About daith piercing

A daith piercing passes through an inner fold of cartilage near the entrance to the ear canal. This position makes it distinct from a tragus at the front of the canal and a rook higher inside the ear. The jewellery occupies part of the inner-ear space, so both the fold and the room around it matter. Bring a picture if you like a particular look, then discuss how its proportions might translate to the ear being assessed.

Is this placement right for you?

Think about the amount of jewellery you want visible within the ear and how it would sit beside existing pieces. Tell the piercer about in-ear headphones, hearing devices or any other earwear before deciding on placement. Choose a daith for its placement and appearance. It should not be relied on to treat a health condition. If your interest comes from a medical concern, speak with a healthcare professional about that separately from the piercing appointment.

Jewellery and what is included

The €35 listing includes basic jewellery. Discuss which initial style suits the fold and surrounding space, rather than choosing solely by the appearance of a decorative piece. The studio can explain the included option and quote for upgrades before you decide what to wear at your appointment.

Looking after your piercing

Do not rotate the jewellery when cleaning your daith. Ask the piercer to demonstrate access to the inner fold and discuss how to keep your regular earwear from pressing on it. Arrange any changes with the studio, particularly if you want a different decorative design later.

Follow the instructions given for your individual piercing. Ask the studio about any fit checks or jewellery changes during healing.

Daith Piercing: your questions

How does daith jewellery differ visually from a tragus piercing?

Daith jewellery occupies the inner-ear space around a cartilage fold. A tragus piercing creates a smaller detail on the flap in front of the ear canal. Looking at both positions in the mirror can help you explain your preference.

What should I bring to a daith consultation?

Bring reference pictures and details of any earphones or other earwear you use frequently. Mention existing piercings too. These give the piercer useful context when discussing position, initial jewellery and everyday practicalities.
